Dr. Douglas Johnston served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Among his other duties, he chaired the CSIS programs on maritime studies and preventive diplomacy.

Brother Bahram Nahiddian is the Imam at the Manassas Mosque in Manassas Virginia. He is a noted Islamic scholar, student of Irfan and ethicist that specializes in tafsir (understanding) of the Qur'an for Muslims. He has spent more than 20 years fostering interfaith understanding and cooperation between Christians, Muslims and Jews in the metro Washington DC area, and is author of numerous articles on issues related to Islamic doctrine, devotion and rituals.
Phil Wilayto is a co-founder of the Defenders for Freedom, Justice & Equality in Richmond, Va., and editor of The Virginia Defender newspaper. (www.DefendersFJE.org) A life-long anti-war activist, he is a board member of the Campaign Against Sanctions & Military Intervention in Iran and author of “In Defense of Iran: Notes from a U.S. Peace Delegation's Journey through the Islamic Republic.”
Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich has a Master's of Public Diplomacy from USC Annenberg for Communication and USC School of International Relations. She is an independent researcher with a focus on U.S. foreign policy towards the Middle East, Iran's nuclear program, and the influence of lobby groups. She is a writer, commentator, public speaker, and activist.
Abubaker Y. Ahmed Shingieti has had a distinguished career in government and the foreign service of the Republic of Sudan. He held Ambassador rank in his capacity as Director of Political Affairs for the Presidency (1995-98) and before that served as Councilor at the Embassy of Sudan in Washington, DC (1990-1993), and Secretary General of the External Information Council in Khartoum (1993-95).
Bassam Haddad is Director of the Middle East Studies Program at George Mason University and Visiting Professor at Georgetown University. He serves as Founding Editor of the Arab Studies Journal (www.arabstudiesjournal.org), a peer-reviewed research publication and is co-producer/director of the award-winning documentary film, About Baghdad (www.aboutbaghdad.com), and director of a film series on “Arabs and Terrorism”
Anisa Abd el Fattah, is a freelance writer, human rights activist and political analyst. She is a former Executive director of the Center for Public Policy Research, and is the former Editor of the Middle East Affairs Journal. She is the founder of the Committee to Ban Economic Sanctions.
