Cartoon Summarizes Zionist Christmas Wishes

On Friday Ian Black of the Guardian attacked this cartoon as anti-Semitic in Cartoon symbols of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Black writes in a discussion of the exhibition which is entitled Cartoons and Extremism: Israel and the Jews in Arab and Western Media and which is being held at the Political Cartoon gallery in London:
With a Star of David symbol emblazoned on his back, an Israeli soldier with bloodied hands bayonets a Christ-like figure in his mother's lap in a classic "pieta" setting; Auschwitz concentration camp is recast as the besieged Gaza Strip; repulsive, hook-nosed Jews are portrayed as snakes or vampires; Ariel Sharon wears a swastika symbol or embraces Adolf Hitler - these are just some of the images to have appeared in Arab cartoons in recent years.
Black adds:
The author Joel Kotek, whose book accompanies the exhibition, argues that the background to what is happening today is centuries of Christian, European anti-Semitism, when the Jew was reviled as Christ-killer, usurer and leech.
Black neglects to mention
  • that the exhibition was put together by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, which is headed by former Israeli Ambassador Dore Gold and
  • that Joel Kotek is a "researcher" and this institute.
The ability of Zionist propagandists to place such material in important national newspapers is a testament of the enduring power of Zionist facilitators and gatekeepers in the media industry even in a year
  • when the Zionist state is honoring Christmas by starving Palestinians in besieged Gaza and
  • when only a few months earlier extremist Zionists exposed their racism by distributing at least 28 million copies of the pseudo-documentary Obsession, Radical Islam's War on the West, which is nothing but blatant Islamophobic incitement.
In contrast, the cartoon above accurately describes the experience of Palestinians over the last 60 years and can only be considered more than fair because

Note that I have never heard many Jewish complaints about the following Chagall Jesus portrait, which is a fairly direct attack on European Christians as well as a severe distortion of history.

The web site Marc Chagall provides the following description:
On a larger scale, White Crucifixion, a large 1938 oil, shows Jesus on a cross--not the usual Christian cruciform, but a truncated, T-shaped cross; his loin cloth is a prayer shawl. On all sides there is frenetic activity: a Red army attacking, a burning synagogue and village, a man carrying away the holy scroll of the Torah, people fleeing in a boat, elders floating above, covering their eyes in dismay at the horrors below. Always acutely aware of himself as a Jew in a Christian world, Chagall has here appropriated the Christian mythology, presenting Jesus as a Jewish martyr who suffered persecution even as all Jews so suffer.

Sincerely, I can't think of anything more antisemitic than Zionism, which is in a sui-generis crusade against Semitic Palestinians, who are very probably also of Jewish ascendancy.

At this moment of history the very term antisemitic, as it's used normally, is meaningless, because Jews are not a visible minority in most of Europe anymore - much less one that raises pasions of any sort (except, of course, among the neonazis, who need to justify their "idol"). Where Jews are a visible minority (USA specially, Britain, Russia) they do not appear to be subject of any special contempt, rather the opposite. When I lived in the USA I had to get used to derogatory jokes against Poles and Blacks but never heard one of Jews, so antisemitism is ovbiously not any leit motiv of the US ethnic complexities.

So the only spot where antisemitism is an issue nowadays is in Palestine, where a minority of recent colonists from (mostly) Europe are dedicated to rob and genocide the Semitic-speaking natives making themselves most "honorable" pupils of Hitler after all.

I really like your blog, Joachim. I think that it is most important that Jews make an "internal" criticism of Jewish politics. Many Jews through history have hold and supported Humanist ideals, not the ethnic racism that israel is based upon, from Spinoza to Marx and so many others. I admire these people and, sure, often I did not even know they were Jews at all until much later; they were in any case most important human beings who were specially able to look beyond petty ethnicisms.

The cowardly Zionist poster is telling Jews that they should be sure to buy more Israeli goods in order to strengthen the Israeli economy -- in other words in order to rip off stupid American non-Jews, who subsidize the Israeli economy.
